What happened?
Yes, I wrote a blog for 2 months and then had a 2 month lapse in writing and posting. My family and I had some issues with our health in that 2 months, but all are recovering now.
Here is an illustration of the usefulness of the Oura ring.
On Monday morning, the ring shows what happened during the previous night’s sleep period (from late Sunday to early Monday, in this illustration). I woke up early Monday morning and began vomiting and having diarrhea. The illness is reflected in the raised body temperature and low HRV of the previous night.

The ring did not predict a sudden bout of illness, only confirmed its severity. But, it did help me understand, that although I was feeling fine Wednesday morning, I was not fully recovered.

Here is another example. I knew that the 22nd and 23rd of April were going to be stressful. I thought I had prepared mentally and physically for the challenge. However, there was plenty of evidence to the contrary! My average HRV was very low even days later when I knew things were fine. The Oura ring provides actionable data that helps me moderate my sleep and activity to assist with recovery.

It helps me to be patient with the time it takes. This is what restorative sleep looks like.
